Thanks so much for registering to participate in the 3rd annual Pilot Big KnoxVenture Race presented by WBIR on Saturday, September 24! We’re excited to have you and want to make sure you have all the details you need to participate.
Make sure you read to the bottom as you don’t want to miss the info on the fast pass that could give your team a competitive advantage!
Check-in: 8:30am-9:30am at The Square Room—in the restaurant Café 4 in Market Square. Please enter through the courtyard at the left of the restaurant where ONLY the team captain will register. Each team will receive a race bib that will identify them as official participants of KnoxVenture.
Parking: We recommend the Market Square Parking Garage off Walnut Street—free parking on weekends
Opening Ceremony: 9:30 am in The Square Room—teams must be present for review of important rules and logistics
Race Starts: 10:00am
Course Closes: 1:30pm—any teams still on the course will be directed to the Market Square Finish line. After teams finish the race they may pick up their race bags, t-shirts and enjoy discounts around the Market Square area while waiting for the awards ceremony.
Awards Ceremony: 1:30pm in The Square Room
What to Wear: Don’t forget your team must be in costume so you can be identified as a team. The crazier the better for this race and there is a prize for BEST COSTUME and MOST ORIGINAL TEAM NAME. Please wear comfortable athletic shoes and attire that is appropriate for the weather and racing conditions.
Fast Pass: Purchase your Fast Pass today following the e-mail link that was sent to your Team Captain for $10. Each team has the opportunity at check-in to purchase one fast pass at the price of $20 for the race. This pass may be used at any of the 12 race stops to omit the activity and allow the team to move ahead in the race. This can be an advantage for your team, so make sure you come prepared with cash, a credit card or check so you don’t miss out!
Race Bag Pick-up: This year we will have race bags and t-shirts available for pick-up at The Square Room on Saturday after the race.
Pictures: Your team will need a digital camera and cord to upload your pictures to a computer: ONLY digital cameras, no cell phone cameras in this race!
